Description

This Ulu knife has the ever popular Walrus Oosik (Penis Bone) handle, a 5.5″ 440 Stainless Steel blade and antler stand. Made by Dennis Sims, who uses modern as well as traditional techniques to produce his functional works of art. Dennis has lived in Alaska since 1975, he and his wife Michelle currently live in Houston, Alaska. Oosik (pronounced “oooh sick”) is a term used in Native Alaska cultures to describe the baculum of walruses, seals, sea lions, and polar bears. The baculum is a bone found in the penis of most mammals. It is absent in humans.
