The ulu knife is quite a versatile utensil for kitchen, shop or outdoor use. Alaska Natives have utilized the ulu since at least 1900 B.C. Originally the blades were made of jade, slate or bone.
Made by Bob Merry of Anchorage, Alaska, this ulu has a Dymondwood handle with a genuine leather inset. Dymondwood is a wood/plastic composite and has the physical and mechanical properties of high density hardwood. The steel is 440 stainless, and as with any cutlery it should be washed with warm soapy water and promptly dried. Dymondwood stand also included.
**No two handcrafted ulus are exactly the same.
Made in Alaska.
